People engage in psychotherapy for many reasons- crisis, sorrow, loss, addiction, conflict- but fundamentally they seek a more meaningful, joyful life. The drive toward wholeness and health- “physis” - names my practice and guides my work.
As a former academic in Arts and Humanities, I became interested in the psychological implications of bodily change and boundaries whilst engaged in my PhD. This led to me becoming a psychotherapist, and has been pivotal to how my therapeutic approach has evolved and developed in the years I have been in private practice. My main aim is to co-create a non-judgmental, relational environment that can reveal pathways to change.
I am a certified Transactional Analyst (CTA-P), specialising in relational TA. I have extensive training in Eco-TA, where therapeutic work integrates our connection to natural/built environments, showing how our surroundings can shape our interactions and internal processes.
I am an active person who loves cross-country running, hiking, and lifting weights; I am also a classically trained dancer. I can teach Yoga (Hatha), Yin, Mindfulness and Meditation- viewing these movement-based practices as an embodied form of knowledge.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
