Hello, my name is Wayne Davis and what follows is some information about me that you might find useful in your search for a therapist.
I am an attachment-based psychoanalytical psychotherapist. Through that lens I look to explore the impact on how safe a person feels on their capacity to relate; not only to others but to themselves. I aim to do this by providing a warm and open atmosphere within which a reflective mutual space can be used to allow thoughts and feelings to emerge; regardless of how difficult they are. Through that process the hope is that healing can allow for change.
From a clinical perspective I have worked with a variety of issues regarding mental well-being.
I believe in and place a strong emphasis on the relational aspect of psychotherapy. Within that process there should be mutual recognition and respect of one another. I also feel the impact of one’s difference on personal development and experience can have a profound impact. Therefore it is important for this to be acknowledged inside and outside the consulting room.
To conclude safety is of the utmost importance and as such the intensity and pace of therapy is aimed to facilitate this. Ultimately I believe the process will look to change how a client feels about the past and present to envisage a more satisfying future.
