Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I have experience working with people with anxiety conditions. I aim to facilitate clients, to be empowered to manage their anxiety using bespoke strategies and self soothing techniques. Within the therapeutic relationship I seek to uncover the " roots" of anxiety for example unhelpful thinking patterns and introjected dialogue, in order to raise awareness of clients process and find more helpful ways of being. I use mindfulness techniques and meditation in sessions in order to empower clients .
I worked for many years in hospice care working with clients who have suffered bereavement including traumatic death and death by suicide. I also have experience with helping people with chronic health conditions.
