I am a relational somatic psychotherapist, specialising in developmental trauma, integrating the arts and creative ways of working with somatic therapies, particularly NeuroAffective Touch, which bridges body work with psychotherapy. My approach promotes resilience, self-awareness and relationship building to empower more positive life choices. As a child and adolescent psychotherapist, I will always have the child/young person at the centre and will take a systemic approach with family and teachers in order to get the best outcomes for the child/young person.
I am a relational somatic psychotherapist with over thirty years of supporting children, young people, adults and families in a variety of educational and therapeutic settings. Keen to create an extensive toolbox of interventions, I have completed numerous trainings. These include, Integrative Arts Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing, NeuroAffective Touch, Integral Somatic Psychology, NeuroAffective Relational Model, EMDR, DDP, CATT, NVR and Foundations of Internal Family Systems.
I founded and run a children's mental health charity, Kids Inspire, in 2007 in order to fill the gaps in mental health services for children and young people. Every child/young person should have a trusted adult that they can turn to at times of stress and overwhelm.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
