I work psychodynamically, helping individuals understand the hidden meanings behind thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. I support clients to make sense of recurring relational difficulties, emotional turbulence, and internal conflict—often rooted in earlier life experiences. My work emphasises containment, the therapeutic relationship, and pacing interventions to suit individual readiness and capacity. My approach is predominantly psychodynamic and psychoanalytic. I use an integrative and tailored to the individual, group or team approach aiming to explore the nature and degree of difficulty and support the person to reach a comfortable awareness of the issues they are struggling with. I am contextually focused and I do a lot of therapeutic work with people who have been surviving non recent traumas. I support people through gentle exploration to regain their life control, power and find their voice. When I work with organisations I use a systemically and psychodynamically informed lens that supports the understanding of the individual's valency in generating and replicating familial patterns of behaviour. In my work with Families I use a combination of Family mediation principles and systemic approaches to conflict resolution to support a more collaborative, outcome focused approach to family conflict.
Alongside my therapy practice, I am a qualified family and workplace mediator, bringing a systemic and relational lens to conflict resolution. This includes experience mediating complex dynamics within families, work environments, and healthcare teams, particularly where psychological distress or trauma plays a role in communication breakdowns.
Therapeutic Values
I believe that long-term healing arises from being deeply heard and understood, often for the first time. I offer a grounded, empathic presence and work collaboratively with clients at their own pace. My practice is trauma-informed, sensitive to power dynamics, and responsive to the legacy of neglect, rupture, or betrayal.

I am a highly experienced psychodynamic analytic psychotherapist with a longstanding career in NHS specialist services, offering depth-oriented therapy for adults facing complex emotional and psychological challenges. My clinical approach is rooted in psychoanalytic principles, providing a reflective space to explore unconscious processes, relational patterns, and the impact of early experiences on current functioning.
With extensive experience working within secondary and tertiary NHS mental health services, I have developed specialist expertise in supporting individuals with complex trauma histories, particularly those relating to non-recent abuse, developmental trauma, and borderline personality disorder (BPD) presentations.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
