My approach is known for being both grounded and compassionate. I work extensively with anxiety, trauma, panic and stress-related concerns, depression, eating disorders, obsessive–compulsive presentations, post-traumatic and post-adoption issues, and relational difficulties. Many clients also come to me when long-standing patterns begin to limit their lives, personally or professionally.
Beginning therapy is rarely a quick decision. For some, arriving here follows months—or years—of private contemplation; for others it’s a more immediate moment of realisation that something needs to change. It’s common to feel uncertain about who to trust, what qualifications matter, or how therapy actually works in practice. My intention is that this site gives you a sense of my background and approach, so you can make a considered choice.
I currently work online from London and Gower and practise in line with the UKCP Code of Ethics. I am fully insured.
Integrative work brings together several psychotherapeutic models so that our work is tailored to you rather than fitting you into one theoretical method. My practice is trauma-informed and includes somatic and mindfulness-based approaches. Over recent years I have moved my practice online, and clients frequently tell me the depth of work available through secure video sessions feels both effective and unexpectedly personal.
Our first meeting focuses on what you want to change or understand, and clarifies whether a counselling or psychotherapy process is most appropriate. Counselling can be useful for a defined issue. Psychotherapy typically moves at greater depth and over a longer time frame. I offer both short-term and long-term work.
If we decide to work together, sessions take place weekly for 50 minutes. The initial six sessions form an assessment period and may also focus on immediate concerns—such as managing acute anxiety. The technical aspects of how I work matter less than whether you feel understood, safe enough to explore, and confident that together we can create meaningful change.
Some clients begin with a clear focus. Others arrive simply with a sense that life is not as they hoped—and want to understand what lies beneath that feeling. Either is a valuable starting point.
