My Approach

My integrative training means I can draw from many modalities to help understand my clients’ unique patterns of thinking and the ways in which we relate to ourselves and others. I believe our minds and bodies are deeply connected so if it feels useful, part of our work could consider how what we feel emotionally relates to what we feel physically.

There’s lots of mystery surrounding therapy so I am clear, consistent and compassionate. You won’t be interrogated or put under pressure and there won’t be anything ‘done to you.’ The work is led by you and our goal is always to help you come to a deeper understanding of yourself. In my experience, being listened to deeply and compassionately can help to ease overwhelming emotions and make space for new perspective when we feel submerged in difficulty.

About Me

My name is Siobhan Farrimond and I am an accredited UKCP registered psychotherapist practising in Salisbury, Wiltshire and online.

I work with adults, exploring the issues they feel may be causing them difficulty or preventing their sense of joy, connection and ability to make positive changes. It can be daunting to approach a therapist, but I offer therapy that is compassionate, confidential and non-judgemental. I hold a diploma and a Masters degree in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy. I am also fully accredited as a Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapist registered with UKCP, the leading regulator for psychotherapy in the UK.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I have supported many clients with issues relating to body image and eating disorders across a broad spectrum of disordered eating and exercise and feel passionately about the importance of approaching these struggles with care, compassion and a commitment to long lasting change. I continue to undertake professional training in this area.
Our relationships can have a huge impact on our well-being so we might focus on specific issues, feelings or experiences such as bereavement, sudden loss, the painful breakdown of a relationship or a need to define new goals. We may focus on deeper work to consider your behavioural, emotional and thought patterns and how they may be contributing to repeated disappointments or the sense that you are ‘stuck’ in difficult or overwhelming feelings. This work often includes looking at how you relate to yourself and others, or where you may be attached to certain things in a way that does not seem helpful such as food, drugs or alcohol, or challenging relationships. Whilst inevitably taking our past experiences and how they've shaped us into consideration, this process is always compassionate and focussed on supporting healthy, happy relating to support us now and in the future.
My qualifying research focussed on trauma and how we can work successfully through psychotherapy to support clients struggling with the impact of ongoing or historical traumatic experiences and as such, I continue to train in this area and work with many clients living with the impact of trauma, helping them to find a way to live with more ease and strategies to support themselves to feel safe.
