I take a warm, relational, and culturally sensitive approach. I draw on systemic, narrative, and structural therapies, working integratively to meet your unique needs.
I work with individuals, couples, and families, supporting a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, eating disorders, psychosis, complex family dynamics, and neurodiversity (including ADHD and autism).
My focus is on strengthening relationships, reducing distress, and supporting movement towards your preferred future at a pace that feels right for you.
Alongside my professional work, I am a mother of four, including twins. I value reflection in everyday life, and where helpful, I bring this into my therapeutic work to support clients in noticing both strengths and areas of difficulty, holding these experiences with care and curiosity.
I am Shelene, a Systemic Family and Couple Psychotherapist with over 26 years’ experience across mental health, social work, and safeguarding.
My background includes a BA in Psychology, an MA in Social Work, and an MSc in Systemic Family and Couple Psychotherapy. I currently work as a Highly Specialist Systemic Family Therapist within NHS CAMHS, alongside my private practice.
My work is grounded in a systemic approach, with a strong focus on relationships, context, and supporting meaningful change for individuals and families.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
