My work is depth-oriented and open-ended. Rather than offering quick fixes, I invite a genuine exploration of your inner world — the patterns, memories and unspoken feelings that shape how you live. Therapy, as I understand it, is not an arrival but a becoming: a slow, honest process of coming to know and inhabit your self more fully.
I draw on the psychoanalytic traditions of Wilfred Bion and Michael Eigen, and I am especially attentive to the cultural and spiritual dimensions of experience.
I am Shalini Masih, a UKCP-registered psychoanalytic psychotherapist working in Worcester and online.
I trained at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, London and hold a PhD in Psychology.
Alongside my clinical work I write and lecture on psychoanalysis, culture and the inner life, and I am the author of Psychoanalytic Conversations with States of Spirit Possession: Beauty in Brokenness (Lexington Books, 2023).
I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, loss, life transitions, and the harder-to-name feelings of being unfinished or unlived.
My practice welcomes people of all backgrounds, cultures and inner worlds.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
