I work intuitively with whatever you bring. The relationship between us is central, and I pay particular attention to our embodied experience – what is going on between us – what can or can’t be spoken, how our body and voices react and feel. Our body is speaking to us when when we are unwell, when we injure ourselves, when we are in pain, when we lose our voice. What does it mean when we are unable to look up, stand tall or speak out. I listen carefully to the stories that we tell each other. I believe that profound healing that can come from being truly witnessed and understood.
Therapy can offer a space to reflect, to work out connections, to be seen and heard, it can be a lifeline, a moment of stillness, it can be challenging and painful, it can illuminate surprising things, it can be creative and dynamic, it can show us different ways of being, it can help us to accept ourselves as we are. There are no wrong answers and there is no subject that can’t be discussed. All parts of you are welcome.
Our work together will support immediate challenges as well as looking to understand the ways in which the past may affect your present, and to enquire into what you might wish for moving forwards. It is often empowering to connect with, express and develop a language for emotional difficulty and to move towards a deeper understanding of yourself. Growing awareness can bring clarity, meaning and positive change.
Where appropriate or when a client brings material or is interested, I work creatively with art work, voice, dreams and the body.
I trained at Re-Vision, London in integrative transpersonal counselling, I am also IFS (Internal Family Systems) informed and often use this model in my work. I will work with you in a creative and flexible way, really listening to your unique needs and determining what works for you. You may be facing some kind of crisis, or life transition. Perhaps you have reached a point in your life where you want to understand why you feel, behave or react in the way you do. Or you may simply be reaching for something you don’t yet understand. I draw on multiple therapeutic approaches and take a soulful and imaginative approach and consider what meaning we might make of the difficulties we face as well as looking to understand what events and patterns might have created those difficulties.
