I work with children and young people from 3 to 18 years old in my private practice just outside Yeovil, Somerset. Individual therapeutic support is tailored to the unique needs of each child or young person. I am trained to work with the arts and specialise in working through play, including sand tray therapy. My strategies will depend on the individual’s preferred way of working. I see the purpose of psychotherapy being to process the deeper root issue of what might be impacting ann individual’s wellbeing.
Psychotherapy would begin with information gathering from parents carers including a short initial discussion, completion of a enquiry form and an initial meeting. Then work would begin with the child or young person.
I am also an EMDR trained therapist and an EMDR Child and Adolescent therapist in training.
Drawing on over 25 years of experience across teaching, SEND, safeguarding, leadership in early years, primary, secondary and specialist settings and advisory roles, I am also a qualified and UKCP-registered Integrative Child Psychotherapist. I provide highly specialist, trauma-informed support for children, young people, families and schools.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
