About Me

I'm an Accredited Member of UKCP and Registered Member of BACP, having completed a Level 7 Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy, and I work as an assessor at Leicester Counselling Centre. Part of my training focused on how our past relationships, societal expectations and cultural factors can affect our present relationships, including how we relate to ourselves. Therapy can be an empowering place to discover what you need from a relationship or situation, and can open up more choices around how you want to live your life.

I have also completed an intensive program in Internal Family Systems (IFS) with Frank Anderson, and have an ADHD Coach certificate. I have accessed further training in a number of areas, some of which include: trauma-informed practice, EFT tapping, inner child work, neuro-affirming practice, sexuality, understanding addictions, sexual abuse, sand tray work and other creative approaches.

I have over 20 years experience of teaching, leading and advising in schools, and a SEN specialism, so naturally advocate for young people and their families, alongside school staff. I offer training in this area to therapist groups, to deepen awareness of this subject and how we can make the therapy room an inclusive space. I'm neurodivergent myself and find that my lived experience of ADHD helps me to provide a safe, accepting environment where people can unmask and be themselves.

My Approach

Hi, I'm Sarah. I'm a warm and compassionate Integrative psychotherapist who offers a non-judgemental, kind space where you can share what's on your mind, and truly feel listened to and understood. Having a safe and supportive place to explore your feelings, and make sense of what you need in your relationships, or life in general, can be profoundly healing- especially if your experiences have left you feeling unseen, alone, angry or misunderstood.

I listen with care and curiosity, to patiently understand what has brought you to therapy, tailoring sessions to match your individual needs. With a gentle and honest approach, I support you to explore your experiences and feelings in a manageable way, helping you move forward and connect with what is important to you. I deeply respect the autonomy and inner wisdom of each client and take guidance from this to understand what therapy needs to look like. Consent and contracting around what a client wishes to work on and in what way, is an integral part of my practice and maintains ethical standards.

I love to work creatively, particularly via sand tray work, collage or using visuals so please do ask me if this interests you. It can be an enlightening way to connect with deeper parts of ourselves, awakening unconscious aspects of our experience.

Finding the right therapist for you is really important-we're all so different and will need different things from a therapist. It can be useful to have an initial conversation with a few therapists, to help you decide who you feel most at ease with. Be choosy-the right one for you is out there!

I work in-person from my therapy space in Barrow upon Soar or online via Teams. It's important to me, that clients feel welcomed and comfortable, and have set up my therapy room with this in mind (with blankets, different seating and lighting options, sensory aids). The cost of a 50-minute session is £60.

If you’d like to arrange a free phone/Teams call (up to 20 mins) to briefly explore what you’re looking for from therapy and to see how we might work together, please get in touch via phone or email. For phone, it's best to text or leave me a message on the answerphone (as I may be in a session or unable to answer). I do my best to respond to enquiries within 48 hours.

My website also has a contact form if it feels easier to connect in this way: www.sarahnashtherapy.com

I look forward to welcoming you soon.
