What happens in our lives can sometimes leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves, others, and the world. Within us, we know that something doesn’t feel right yet we are not quite sure what it is. Having the ecological as the foundation of my practice means that relationship is restored not only within ourselves and with other humans but with the earth herself. It is an acknowledgement of the interdependence all beings share. We learn about our own psychological processes from the emerging relationship between the earth and our moving, sensing, breathing bodies. Earth is the co-therapist.
I can help with:
• Anxiety, stress, and overwhelm
• Relationship difficulties and couples therapy
• Life transitions and feeling stuck
• Disconnection from self, others, or the world
• Emotional and behavioural patterns that feel hard to change
• Bereavement, death, and dying
• Addictions, including involvement in 12-Step programmes
• Identity, meaning, and personal development
As a registered member, I work within its ethical framework. I attend regular supervision and engage in my own personal therapy to support safe and effective practice.
If you are looking for a therapist in Liverpool, you are welcome to get in touch to arrange an initial conversation and see whether working together feels right for you.
Hello, my name is Sarah Laird and I am a therapist based in Liverpool. I work with adult individuals and couples. I trained in Transactional Analysis (TA) and work ecologically. Sessions are held outdoors (weather permitting), visiting various green spaces around the south of Liverpool and in an allotment space in the Toxteth area.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
