As an experienced Integrative Psychotherapist, I work with the whole person, considering their thoughts, feelings, physical experiences, spirituality, sexuality and dreams, as well as their past and present. I offer a confidential, safe space and use a warm, non-judgmental and empathic approach to develop a therapeutic relationship where people can explore various issues and difficulties, developing their insight and understanding in order to make changes and improve wellbeing. I especially value working within holistic, creative and client-centred ways that facilitate our natural capacity for healthy growth and fulfilment. I believe working together with both the head and the heart facilitates a greater depth of transformation, integration and healing.
Having completed an in-depth MA in Integrative Psychotherapy (2009) – integrating Humanistic, Developmental, Relational and Psychodynamic approaches to support individuals to achieve a healthier, more integrated sense of Self - I’ve worked in private practice for over 15 years. Additionally, I have 20 years’ experience working within Adult Mental Health (NHS) and Higher Education and completed a Diploma in Psychotherapy Supervision (2016). Further training in Interpersonal Psychotherapy (2005), Psychodynamic modules (2004) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) (2014) complements my Integrative Practice. As a UKCP registered psychotherapist I work within an ethical framework for professional practice and maintain a high level of continuing professional development (CPD) in order to regularly up-date and improve my knowledge and skills.
Working in private practice based in Beeston, I currently offer both short-term (up to 12 sessions) and long-term (12 and more sessions) individual sessions. The initial session lasts one hour in order to discuss what you would like from therapy, ask any questions and decide whether we can work well together to achieve your intentions.
