I see emotional difficulties as something that develops within relationships and life experiences, rather than as a flaw in the individual. Often, the ways we learned to cope earlier in life no longer serve us in the present.
In our work together, we will look at the patterns that may be keeping you stuck — whether that is repeated conflict in relationships, ongoing anxiety or stress, or a persistent sense of feeling low or disconnected. We may explore family influences, early experiences and current pressures, always at a pace that feels right for you.
If you are coming as a couple, we will focus on understanding the cycle you may be caught in, improving communication and rebuilding trust. If you are coming individually, we will work towards greater clarity, emotional steadiness and choice in how you respond to challenges.
My way of working is thoughtful, collaborative and grounded. I pay attention to emotional safety and help you build understanding alongside practical change. The aim is not simply to talk about problems, but to help you experience shifts that lead to more balanced, connected and fulfilling relationships.
You may be coming to therapy because your relationships feel strained or repetitive. You might be feeling anxious, overwhelmed or under constant pressure. Or perhaps you feel low, stuck or unsure about the direction your life is taking.
I am a systemic therapist with over ten years of experience working with individuals, couples, families and groups. Much of my work focuses on helping people understand the patterns that shape their relationships - with partners, children, parents, colleagues and themselves.
Alongside private practice, I co-founded and led a community organisation supporting parents and families. This experience gave me a deep understanding of how family life, stress and modern pressures can affect emotional wellbeing and relationships.
Before training as a therapist, I worked in documentary film and television. This continues to shape how I listen - with sensitivity to the many layers of a person’s story. Clients often describe me as calm, thoughtful and steady. I aim to offer a space that feels safe and non-judgemental, where you can speak openly and feel genuinely heard.
I work with adults, couples, families, adolescents and groups, both in person and online.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
