My main focus is to help you or your child to understand yourself, your situation, relationships, feelings, your internal world. I encourage clients to cultivate both greater understanding and more acceptance and compassion and the experience of being able to trust and feel more confident in who they are and the choices they make.
I work with the client, using whichever tools best suit their needs and personality and can use a combination of talking therapy, mindfulness practices, mentallisation, art and sandplay therapy.
I am also a trained mindfulness teacher for children and teenagers, I run ten week mindfulness courses with large groups of students and teachers and also bring mindfulness practices into my one to one work.
I am a highly experienced and qualified child, young person, parent and adult psychotherapist and supervisor (UKCP accredited) offering both long and short term therapy in person and online. I am experienced in working with a range of issues such as anxiety, depression, family issues and low self esteem. I currently work in private practice and for a number of schools supervising child psychotherapists. I also supervise and assess trainee child psychotherapists on the Masters in Child, Adolescent and Family Psychotherapy at CCPE. For a number of years I worked within an NHS CAMHS team in Barnet with children and adolescents from 5-18 and and parents where I regularly carried out mental health assessments, short and long-term treatment and pre-diagnosis for ASD and ADHD.
I am a sensitive, thoughtful and warm therapist, specifically trained and with over twenty years of experience in working with children, teenagers, young adults and adults.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
