In view of my life and work experiences, my approach can, at times, be existential in nature although I recognise the need to manage current life challenges and experiences. It is because of this, I use an integrative approach to psychotherapy however my clinical approach is adapted to individual client need and presentation as we are all unique in our experiences and perceptions. Predominantly, I work with attachment, what relationships mean and the value of these. The therapeutic relationship is a healing element of my approach and enables reflection on other relationships which clients may be involved in outside of the therapeutic space.
I am an accredited Humanistic Integrative Psychotherapist having trained in West London. I will be HCPC Registered at the end of 2025 which is the regulatory body for Doctors in the UK when I will be a Counselling Psychologist. I have extensive clinical experience working with some of the most vulnerable individuals including victims of crime, young people, forensic populations and older adults in the NHS. I have extensive experience working with end-of-life patients and I have insight into death anxiety as well as one's own mortality.
I am also a University Lecturer and a Course Leader in a rural University teaching postgraduate sstudents therapeutic skills. I have extensive experience of working within the Criminal Justice System advocating and supporting victims of crime, witnesses and offenders.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
