About Me

I am a fully qualified and experienced integrative psychotherapist working with Transactional Analysis with individuals (18+) and couples providing in depth psychotherapy.
I work either short term or longer depending on what brings you to therapy and we can clarify what you want at our first session depending on what you want to gain from the process.
I trained in Transactional Analysis and have integrated other influences such as psychodynamic and attachment theory into my practice. I offer a respectful approachable safe non judgmental space to work out and identify emotions as a way of understanding yourself and what you might want to change working collaboratively with me.

I work with

  • Companies
  • Couples
  • Individuals
  • Private healthcare referrals

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

You can be officially diagnosed or not to speak with me about your concerns. In my experience this condition hampers regulation and productivity and communication and we will work on all of them together. You can be on medication or not, the key is to gain an understanding of yourself and how you react in certain situations or with certain people. Psychological therapy for adults living with ADHD is about making sense of attention and regulation in context. Many people arrive with emotional intensity, executive strain, and the fatigue of a nervous system that never quite settles — alongside self blame, the harshest self critic is anxiety, low mood, or relationship patterns that have built up over many years and are often mistermed and mislabelled.
Anxiety can spiral out of control so that you find your life ruled by it. It maybe specific but doesn't need to be. It is often a warning system that alerts you in much the same way that you might need to vacate a building if the fire alarm goes off but not necessarily if it's a fire drill but when you are experiencing it you are unable to distinguish it. It needn't be that way and we can explore your triggers, what goes on for you eg do you have a freeze, fight, flight or flop response and use tools to manage your symptoms. The job is not to eradicate it but to be aware it is there and not respond in your well honed way as there maybe another way that can defuse the flood of anxiety and panic by managing your symptoms.
I work with you to uncover what might be holding you back from living the life you want when your culture requires things of you of which you were unaware. There maybe cultural societal expectations that harm us or get in the way. Straddling multi cultures is a sensitive space and we hold that together.
Being depressed is not the main issue in my experience- we can all feel low and down. It may not show outwardly, in fact, the research shows that many of us put on a smile whilst on the inside we are battling with a lack of motivation and unable to experience joy in things that have previously brought joy or comfort.Speaking about it can help us discover what it means for you and what are the tools to help you achieve a better life that isn't ruled by low mood and depression.
As human beings we are all in relationships of one sort of another be it with a partner, a family member or a colleague to name a few. Speaking with someone else can help us find our way and to see how we feel about the relationship and a space to offload our concerns. Often how we interpret the other person's messages may have become coded and we cannot distinguish that. Having another interested but not invested party looking in on your dynamic is useful to provide insight and strategies moving forward.
