Systemic Family Therapy adopts a relationship-based approach, viewing problems not within an individual, but within the context of their relationships, family system, and wider social systems. I work to strengthen resources, resilience, and relationships, supporting individuals and families to understand and work through conflict and process difficult experiences with the hope of reducing conflict, increasing relational harmony and enhancing decision-making and communication. Taking into account the economic, social, cultural, political, and religious factors that influence family life I adapt interventions to meet the specific requirements of each family or individual, facilitating conversations that help families/individuals identify and use resources within themselves and their relationships, inviting alternative and new perspectives to create meaningful lasting change.
I offer weekly and/or fortnightly sessions dependent on the work and, clients preference.
I am a Systemic Family Psychotherapist working at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust specialising in relationship-based therapeutic work with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. In addition to my NHS work, I run a private practice where I see individual young people and adults as well as parents, families, and couples. I help clients navigate relational issues, emotional and mental health challenges, and developmental struggles through a collaborative, strengths-focused approach. These sessions are held in rooms in North London or online, depending on which setting best suits the needs of the client. I offer an initial conversation on the phone or online to think together about working together and to give clients the opportunity to see whether I am the right ‘fit’ for them. I do not charge for this. My practice is fully insured and strictly adheres to the professional codes of conduct mandated by: AFSP (Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice), UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy), PPS (Insurance).
Central to my practice is an anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive framework. I am experienced in working across various social, cultural, and religious differences and respect individual perspectives and stories. I invite my clients to share any specific aspects of their identity including age, disability, race, sexual orientation, gender, religion, or marital status that they would like me to pay particular attention to during our work together.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
