Therapy can help you make sense of what’s happening, find coping mechanisms, and move toward a clearer, confident future.
Many men seek therapy when they feel stressed, overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about relationships, work, or life direction. We can also discuss - without judgement - sexual issues like unreliable erections, premature ejaculation, low desire, or sexual exploration.
You might ask yourself:
* Why don't I feel good enough?
* Why don't I feel happy?
* Is my job making me depressed?
* How do I communicate better with my partner?
* Why am I single?
* How do I know if my sex life is normal?
* Is this all there is?
My integrative, tailored approach draws from several therapeutic models — including psychodynamic, relational, and CBT. I provide a relaxed, practical, confidential space to talk openly. People often stay with me long-term, developing a trusting relationship that supports the work. Many return during life transitions, seeking further guidance from someone who already knows them well.
Hello I’m Richard, a therapist specialising in working with men, based in Chancery Lane, London Bridge/Southwark, and online. I currently have availability for new clients.
I work practically to help you improve awareness, communication, self-esteem, reduce stress, navigate relationships and family dynamics, manage loneliness, and build a clearer direction in life. I can help you challenge limiting self-beliefs, and find useful ways through your current stress.
My clients come from across ages, relationship status, professions, and sexualities. You don't always need a 'big' reason for therapy. I work with men who are:
* experiencing anxiety, depression, burn out
* feeling low, stuck, or overwhelmed, uncertain
* navigating relationships or dating
* worried about sexual issues, like unreliable erections, premature ejaculation, low desire, porn use, or wanting to open up their sex life
* dealing with self-esteem, confidence, or imposter syndrome
* facing life transitions, family, or work pressures
* navigating life as a man - straight, gay, bisexual, or trans
Checking a therapist has professional memberships is important because it indicates they have rigorous training, adhere to ethical standards, and are committed to ongoing professional development and supervision to work safely and effectively. I'm a member of both the BACP and UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy).
Before retraining, I spent 20 years working in TV production, photojournalism, and corporate and communications environments. I’ve also volunteered with Terrence Higgins Trust and Stonewall, and was a trustee for London Friend.
I work in central London, EC4A (close to Chancery Lane, Farringdon, Holborn, Blackfriars, and City Thameslink) and SE1 (close to London Bridge, Southwark, Waterloo, and Blackfriars). I also work online to provide flexibility for the people I work with.
Message and we’ll arrange a free, no obligation chat. It’s an opportunity to talk about what’s brought you to therapy, what you hope to achieve, and ask any questions you have for me.
