My clients come from all ages, relationship status, professions, and sexualities. I understand how our backgrounds, and societal and familial expectations can affect relationships, esteem, and sense of purpose.
Many men seek therapy when they feel stressed, overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about relationships, work, or life direction. I provide a relaxed, confidential space to talk openly, help you gain greater understanding of what's influencing your responses, increase clarity around what you want, and develop practical ways of moving forward.
My integrative approach draws from several therapeutic models — including psychodynamic, relational, and CBT — that's flexible, practical, and tailored to you. Therapy can help you make sense of what’s happening, find coping mechanisms, and move toward a clearer, confident version of yourself.
Hi, I’m Richard English, a psychotherapist specialising in men's mental health, based in Chancery Lane, Central London, and online. I currently have limited availability for new clients.
I'm a UKCP and BACP registered psychotherapist supporting men with their anxiety, low mood, feeling stuck, relationships, sex, self-esteem, and work issues.
I work with:
* Men experiencing anxiety, stress, burn out
* Men feeling low, stuck, or overwhelmed, uncertain
* Men navigating relationships, dating, sex, or communication issues
* Men dealing with self-esteem, confidence, or imposter syndrome
* Men facing life transitions, family, or work pressures
* Men with self-esteem issues, or feeling unlovable
I trained at The Minster Centre, one of the UK’s leading institutes for counselling and psychotherapy. Before retraining, I worked in marketing, photojournalism, and TV production, so understand the business world and the importance of communication. I’ve also volunteered with Terrence Higgins Trust and Stonewall, and was a trustee for London Friend.
Message me and we’ll arrange a free, no obligation chat. It’s an opportunity to explain what’s brought you to therapy, what you want to achieve, and ask any questions you have for me.
Closest stations are Chancery Lane, City Thameslink, Farringdon, Blackfriars, Holborn, and St Paul's.
