My name is Rhian, and I am a UKCP-accredited integrative psychotherapist and EMDR therapist. I practise a developmental and relational approach and work with both individuals and couples. It is important to me to create a warm and respectful therapeutic relationship in which you feel safe to explore your feelings and reflect on the challenges you may be experiencing.
People access therapy for many different reasons. Perhaps you are experiencing a stressful life event, a period of change, anxiety, depression, a relationship difficulty, or possibly a long-held problem that makes you feel stuck or unfulfilled. Other concerns that may lead you to psychotherapy include family issues, parenthood, moving into a new life stage, eating disorders, isolation, loss and bereavement and addiction or compulsive behaviours. Some people turn to therapy because life feels empty and unfulfilling and they want to understand and resolve these feelings.
Therapy offers a confidential space to work through past or present difficulties, gain new awareness, and feel more connected to yourself and others. By increasing your awareness, you can begin to recognise and change unhelpful patterns.
I have been working therapeutically with individuals and groups for over fifteen years in mental health services. Specifically, addiction rehabilitation centres, eating disorder services and specialist trauma centres for sexual violence and abuse. Alongside this, I have a private practice where I see individuals who experience issues such as anxiety, relationship difficulties, addiction, eating disorders, trauma, depression, shame, loss, personality disorders and stress.
