Systemic psychotherapy offers a lens to explore ideas about who we are and what influences us, and our relationships. It can be used to explore family dynamics, couple relationship issues or individual dilemmas. I will work with you to explore different perspectives and help you work towards the change you want to see in your life and relationships.
Systemic Psychotherapy includes a number of models of change, so we can find a way of working together which is the best fit for you. The goal will be not just to solve problems, but to develop new skills in solving future dilemmas.
EMDR is a specific tool to help process traumatic memories which are having a current affect on your day to day life. I will sometimes use this as a stand alone intervention, or sometimes within my systemic practice, and we can agree as we meet what is the right fit for you.
I am a qualified Systemic Psychotherapist and I have worked with children and families for over 15 years. I am also trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing).
I have worked with people who have brought a wide variety of dilemmas, including family discord, family breakdown, couple relationships and individual challenges. I have experience supporting people who have experienced significant traumas including childhood sexual abuse, domestic abuse and complex bereavement.
I have written about working with adolescents who have experienced sexual exploitation.
I work cross culturally and across the sexuality and gender spectrums.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
