I am a family and systemic psychotherapist working with individuals, couples and families in person and online in East London.
Relationships can be the site of confusion and difficulty and the source of healing and resilience. As an experienced couples and family therapist I offer a confidential and non-judgemental space to explore the complexities and dilemmas that you are facing. In our sessions we will co-create a safe and respectful context where listening and understanding can begin to feel more possible.
Whilst we will be talking about problems, my approach is appreciative and strengths focused; together we will identify and amplify the ways in which you are already seeking to resist the difficulties and create change. Bringing greater awareness to your interactional patterns and the links between thought, feeling and action, I will support you to experiment with difference and to bring more flexibility into your relationships.
My therapeutic modality is systemic, meaning that I focus on patterns and connections across relationships and ecosystems. Prior to my clinical training I studied continental European philosophy and psychoanalysis, and these are ideas that continue to influence my work. I am trained in Emotion Focused Therapy and Non-Violent Resistance.
I have ten years experience of working therapeutically in children’s social services, child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) and NHS adult mental health settings. I run groups for parents whose children are violent and aggressive towards them; I train and offer clinical supervision to therapy students and other professionals; I am also a registered social worker.
In order to see if we are a good fit to work together I offer a free 15 minute phone conversation. You can contact me via email to organize a time to speak.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
