My approach is to provide a safe, calm space for you to talk. The underlying causes of our emotional distress in the present often lie in the past where we develop unhelpful coping mechanisms, destructive ways of being and relating which we unconsciously carry into adulthood and that prevent us from becoming our fulfilled selves.
By creating a space in therapy to explore and understand this, we can develop the capacity to relate to our personal narrative, our experiences, memories, feelings, beliefs and relationships in a more reflective yet active way, leading to greater awareness, self-acceptance and the possibility of lasting, positive change.
At an initial consultation you can tell me about yourself and why you are seeking therapy, get a sense as to whether you would feel comfortable working with me going forward and I can begin to think around your individual therapeutic needs.
