My Approach

I believe that the relationship and connection between client and therapist is the foundation of therapy. I will endeavour to facilitate the support you need, respecting your unique individuality and experiences. My clients describe me as someone who is very easy to open up to, warm and accepting. Often being surprised by what they have shared. One client said that he found that nothing he said “shocked” me, and that helped him to trust in our relationship and the therapy process.

My endeavour is to support you to overcome whatever it is that is preventing you from living your life fully, or as you choose, and on your terms.

I offer a free 20 minute introductory meeting online to determine if you would like to work with me.

I would describe myself as a genuine, passionate, and conscientious psychotherapist, with experience working as a full time therapist for organisations, charities and private practice for 15 years. While I have undertaken extensive training for 10 consecutive years, I continue to develop my practice with further training and cpd’s. Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Having worked in recovery treatment facilities for several years, I integrate my knowledge and understanding of 12 steps recovery with my person centred practice.
I completed EMDR training with EMDR Europe and am a registered member of EMDR UK Association. I integrate EMDR into my person centred practice to further assist my clients recovery from trauma and for other issues such as, stress, anxiety, negative self belief and others.
I have worked with and supported many clients to work through and overcome difficult and challenging mental health issues, including depression, stress, particularly work placement stress or education stress issues for young people, bullying, peer and friendship group issues, identity, family separation or divorce, financial worries, and others
I have long term experience supporting clients who have suffered historical sexual abuse and rape. I have also undertaken specific additional training in this area.
