Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Helping individuals and families process and heal from trauma and abuse, it is important for therapists to remain for compassionate although remaining balanced against colluding with abusive behaviour. A clear and honest approach has enabled me to support both perpetrators of abuse and victims.
I am an accredited provider for Adoptions South West and provide evidenced based interventions for children and families who are adopted.
I have supported couples with a range of relational difficulties, and personal challenges. Being non-judgemental and neutral are important positions for any therapist to hold. I am influenced by Gottman and the emotional focused approach Sue Johnson presents.
I am currently a registered and qualified and family therapist. I have experience of supporting families with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties. I have worked in a number of Statutory settings, so have a range of experiences. I am interested in communication theory and how this can assist with conflict and challenges that families can face.
I have completed a PG certificate in psychological therapies supervision, IAPT. Systemic Strand. Conduct disorder and depression and supervise individuals, teams and groups.
