My Approach

I trained in Birmingham with John Burnham. This training focuses on Approach, Method And Technique to enable a flexible and adaptable approach to working with difference to tailor to each families and relational needs.

About Me

I am a qualified Family and Systemic Psychotherapist. I have worked in both inpatient settings and in the community, in both the private sector and in the NHS. I work with families, couples, individuals and groups having experience working with all ages. I can connect in person or online. The focus of conversations are on relationships, I have additional training in Non-Violence Resistance approach which focuses on raising parental presence where there are harmful behaviours (violence, self harm, isolation, anxiety, suicidal ideation).
I previously worked as a a mental Health Nurse for years and studied a Psychology and Criminal Justice at University which inform my practice and experiences.
I have personal experience of growing up with challenging relationships and this can help guide conversations which may be similar / different.

I work with

  • Children and young people
  • Couples
  • Families
  • Groups
  • Individuals
  • Private healthcare referrals

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I can offer support to couples to support their relational challenges.
I have worked with families who c are open to or admitted into mental health services whether low level risk to higher where they have required to be admitted onto a Psychiatric intensive Care unit in hospital.
I am trained to advanced level with Partnership Projects in Non-Violence Resistance Approach (NVR). This offers a space for parents/partners to reflect on their relationship and gain an understanding how escalations occur so they can break this cycle. We focus on connection before correction and share skills to support parents to raise their presence and feel confident in responding to their children / partners.
When someone falls ill in a family it impacts everyone within this unit. Gaining understandings, Exploring the affects of and baking a safe space to talk can help open up new conversations.
In 2021 I completed specialised training in Systemic supervision working with Individuals which e corporates systemic ideas alongside generic educational learning theories. To commence supervision a contract would be agreed and drawn up.
