Part of my approach is humanistic and person-centered with the goal of helping my clients connect with their mental health and wellbeing in a non-judgmental and supportive way.
I offer play therapy, which creates a space to interact with our subconscious selves through imagination.
I also work with groups offering therapeutic art support and therapeutic story work in schools and for families at my practice.
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural techniques for depression and PTSD, working in a more structured and directives way, depending on the needs of my clients.
I am an Educational Psychotherapist and I work with children, young people and their families. You may be wondering what Educational Psychotherapy is? It is a practice of psychotherapy that considers any barriers to learning a child or young person may be experiencing. These barriers are often linked to difficult or traumatic experiences such as bullying, bereavement, attachment disorders, family separation or divorce. As an Educational Psychotherapist I use different creative interventions that are suited to the individual child, so that they can continue to engage, and feel supported in, their learning journey.
I also offer sessions that explore different learning styles, working with your child to find the best way for them to revise and prepare for tests and exams. I offer these sessions for ages 12-16years of age.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
