I am a Psychologist with a Master's degree in Family and Systemic Therapy and over 22 years' experience working therapeutically with children, young people and families across the NHS and private sector in the UK. I also hold formal qualifications in Clinical Supervision and Consultation from the University of Surrey and am a Licensed Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).
My clinical practice draws on a range of evidence-based approaches, including Systemic Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Gestalt group work. I am trained in the Decider Life Skills programme and complement these approaches with somatic and breathwork techniques, which I have found to be meaningful in helping my clients reconnect with themselves in a safe and regulated way.
I have a particular interest in trauma, emotional regulation and the mind-body connection. I continue to develop my practice through advanced professional training in somatic approaches to trauma, ensuring my work remains informed by current research and best practice. I recognise the profound impact that trauma and adverse childhood experiences can have on emotional wellbeing, relationships and a person's sense of self, and I adapt my therapeutic approach to meet each individual's unique needs.
Throughout my career, I have worked across outpatient, community and inpatient services with individuals and families experiencing a wide range of complex difficulties. I value working collaboratively and independently, while always remaining mindful of the importance of practising within my professional competence and seeking consultation when needed.
For the past four years, I have worked exclusively online, currently holding part-time roles within an NHS CAMHS service and a specialist eating disorders service in London, alongside my private practice. This experience has shown me how meaningful and effective online therapy can be when delivered with care and intention, and I have developed a strong ability to build warm, trusting therapeutic relationships, even through a screen.
Finding the right therapist is an important part of the therapeutic journey. If you feel I may be a good fit for you, your child or your family, I would be delighted to hear from you. Please get in touch to arrange an initial conversation, where we can explore your needs and whether I am the right person to support you.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
