My Approach

My approach is Person-Centred Experiential (PCE), relational and trauma-informed. I see supervision as a collaborative and reflective space where supervisees can bring their practice openly and explore what is emerging for them and their clients.

I aim to create a trusting environment where curiosity, reflection and clinical thinking can develop alongside confidence and professional growth. Supervision may include exploring client work, therapeutic process, ethical considerations, practitioner wellbeing and the relationship between therapist and client.

About Me

I’m Nuala Carey, a UKCP accredited psychotherapist, clinical supervisor and Level 5 and 6 counselling tutor. I offer short-, medium- and long-term therapy for adults, both online and in person. I have extensive experience across private practice and NHS adult mental health services, working with a wide range of emotional, relational and life challenges.

Alongside my core psychotherapy training, I have specialist training in trauma, EMDR and Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and concerns around intimacy and sexuality.

I also work as a clinical supervisor and counselling tutor, supporting therapists and trainees in their professional development. I’m committed to ongoing learning and reflective practice, bringing together my clinical experience, training and curiosity about what helps people understand themselves and their experiences more fully.
