In Irish and Scottish Celtic culture, a ‘clachan’ means settlement or dwelling place.
As a psychotherapist I aim to create a ‘safe place’ for families and individuals to come and talk about the themes that are challenging them, those that have brought them to seek therapy.
Together through conversation and perhaps specific therapeutic interventions, I hope that individuals and families will see ‘settlement’ with their situations and within relationships over time.
Having worked for the NHS as social worker and then as systemic family psychotherapist after 35 years I have retired, developing my independent practice -Clachan , alongside a par-time post supporting the growth of family and systemic psychotherapy for care experienced children and their families in a local Trust
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
