I am an Existential therapist with additional training in somatic trauma therapy and GSRD therapy (gender, sexual and relationship diversity)
Hello, I am Niki D.
35 Years of Experience. Specialist Therapist. Intersectional Awareness. Relational, Ethical and Inclusive.
With 35 years’ experience as a psychotherapist, counsellor, group therapist, supervisor, trainer and tutor, I offer specialist therapeutic support, supervision and training with a particular focus on queer, trans, polyamorous and open relationships.
Specialist Relationship Therapy
I specialise in working with queer and/or trans people, in dyads, triads and polycules navigating ethical non-monogamy, polyamorous and open relationships.
My approach is grounded in openness and respect for the many different ways people create relationships, intimacy and family. I offer a space where clients can explore relationship challenges, identity, communication, boundaries, desire and relationship challenges without judgement.
Queer Therapy Groups in Hackney
I facilitate three in-person queer (GSRD) therapy groups in Hackney E8, providing a supportive space to explore personal experiences and relationships alongside others with shared and diverse experiences. One of these groups is for LGBTQIA+ therapists.
Supervision for Therapists
As an experienced therapeutic supervisor, I offer individual supervision as well as two monthly supervision groups.
One group is specifically for queer and/or trans therapists of any modality, meeting in Hackney E8. Supervision offers an opportunity to reflect deeply on therapy work, develop your practice and consider the personal and professional dynamics that arise in therapeutic relationships.
Training for Professionals Working with Open & Polyamorous Relationships
I deliver Opening Up CPD, a six-day professional development course for therapists, psychologists and coaches working with clients in polyamorous and open relationships.
The course provides practitioners with the knowledge, confidence and competence needed to work thoughtfully and effectively with diverse relationship styles.
Writing, Conferences & Professional Training
I write for therapy handbooks on GSRD topics and regularly contribute to the wider therapeutic community through conference presentations, one-day trainings and professional education.
My work brings together decades of experience with a commitment to helping therapists develop inclusive, informed and affirming practice.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
