I aim to provide a steady, thoughtful, and containing environment where difficult feelings can be explored safely. Therapy is collaborative and paced according to what feels manageable.
We may explore:
Emotional intensity or instability
Repeated relational patterns
Low self-worth or self-doubt
Anger, shame, or anxiety that feels disproportionate or confusing
Experiences that continue to influence you in the present
Rather than focusing only on symptom reduction, my work supports a deeper understanding of underlying dynamics. Change often comes through increased awareness, emotional processing, and developing a different relationship to yourself and others.
I am a UKCP-registered integrative psychotherpeutic counsellor working with adults who experience intense emotions, ongoing relationship difficulties, or long-standing patterns that feel hard to shift.
Many people who come to see me feel that something deeper is driving their distress. They may struggle with emotional overwhelm, self-criticism, instability in relationships, or a persistent sense of dissatisfaction or disconnection. Often these patterns have developed over time and cannot be resolved simply by trying harder or thinking differently.
My training is integrative, with a strong relational focus. This means I am interested in how your past and present relationships shape your sense of self, your emotional responses, and the ways you relate to others. Therapy offers a space to reflect on these patterns and begin to understand them more fully. I am also an EMDR Eye Movement Densensitization Reprocessing practitioner, EMDR is very helpful in treating PTSD, low self esteem, anxiety, OCD, phobias and body dysmorphia.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
