I have over twenty years experience providing a safe space in which to explore difficulties and identify ways of moving forward. We are all faced with difficult struggles and emotions at times in our lives, but some leave us feeling trapped and unable to see a way forward; I will help you make sense of your difficulties and help you to find a way forward. Each person is unique and I draw on several approaches to find the best way to work with my clients.
If you want to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and how you relate to others then Psychodynamic therapy can empower you and you will do this by exploring your past , your family history and your inner self. I will help you to explore previous life experiences as well as exploring your unconscious mind and beliefs held from your past that are no longer valid. This will help you to make positive changes in your life.
I use creativity in my work as a gentle way of working through emotional pain. I use some experiential exercises as a tool towards healing, as it can help to communicate and understand feelings that are difficult to express. This can take the form of Art Therapy, Guided Visualisation, Meditation, Journaling and dream work.
Transpersonal Therapy values wholeness and sees the creative imagination as a healing opportunity towards growth development. I will encourage you to develop the qualities that you need to face your challenges.
I am currently working both on line and face to face. I offer both short term and long term psychotherapy/counselling. Please do check my website as I work with many issues.
I have twenty years experience working as an integrative counsellor/psychotherapist. I am based in West Hampstead/Kilburn Currently I am working on line as well as seeing clients face to face. My professional training and my own life experience means that I will be able to help effectively with a wide range of issues. I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds and I aim to provide therapy which meets the needs of each individual . As your therapist I will engage you as a person rather than a set of symptoms. My aim is to help you live your life more fully, making changes or coming to terms with difficult dilemmas. I will offer you a safe space in which to explore your thoughts , ideas, and feelings. I am an integrative psychotherapist, which means I can work with a wide set of therapies rather than a fixed approach. This means that I will be able to tailor the therapy to your needs and that we will discuss together what works best for you. This open approach means that the relationship between client and therapist is as important as the therapy itself. I believe that healthy relationships in our lives are crucial to our well being.
An initial consultation does not mean any commitment to therapy; its an opportunity to meet an explore what is troubling you and see if we can work together. As well as my training as a therapist I worked in a residential treatment centre for addictions for sixteen years. I was also involved for 8 years in co ordinating a project for domestic abuse working with survivors of domestic violence of both gender. I work with many issues so do check my web site.
I have completed the UKCP Covid-19 Online Working Guidance course.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
