I work from a foundation in Transactional Analysis (TA), an accessible and relational approach that helps us understand how early adaptations shape how we feel, relate, and behave in the present.
Alongside TA, I draw on a range of approaches to support individual needs, particularly when it comes to working with trauma, dissociation, or what feels unspoken or complex. This includes creative tools like working with dreams, sand-tray and images, body awareness and neuro-informed perspectives.
I work on the premise that every person is different and tailor my approach to the individual. This is a consent-led work where I respect your pace and needs AND I will pay attention to what keeps you stuck.
The therapeutic process may encompass a wide range of issues, and the goal of our work can be focused on:
exploration (e.g. I want to explore how loss/trauma affected my life)
dealing with a specific issue (e.g. I want to deal with stress better)
a clarification (e.g. I want to understand my relationships)
development (e.g. I want to lead a more meaningful life)
What to expect:
Free initial consultation (30 mins):
We’ll talk about what brings you here and whether we feel like a good fit. I’ll answer your questions and, if needed, suggest alternative support.
First full session:
We begin to explore your story and your goals. We’ll talk about what you want from therapy and how you prefer to work.
Ongoing sessions:
Therapy is a commitment to work on yourself. I work weekly (twice a week on request). We’ll regularly review how things are going to ensure it continues to feel useful and relevant to you.
I’m a qualified and experienced UKCP accredited psychotherapist offering in-depth therapy for adults navigating emotional difficulty, life transitions, and longstanding patterns. My particular interest concerns attachment issues and negative experiences in childhood.
Therapy with me is about creating a collaborative, trusting space where you can reflect deeply, gain clarity, and experiment with new ways of being. The therapeutic relationship is central — it becomes a space to feel, reframe, and grow.
I’m a potent and engaged therapist — warm and respectful, but not afraid to challenge you where it matters. Sometimes it’s in these moments of tension or insight that real change becomes possible.
My background, prior to becoming a counsellor, is in the voluntary sector. I have worked with helping professionals and mental health practitioners in the NHS for the last 10 years. I've also supported individuals at an acute psychiatric unit. This background gives me a solid understanding of complex and severe psychological distress, and how people adapt in both visible and invisible ways
My additional training covers:
working creatively with images, sand-tray and clay
awareness of body processes and brain functioning
trauma and dissociation
I hold:
Diploma in Adult Psychotherapy
Diploma in Transactional Analysis Practice
MSc Sociology
MA Arts and Cultural Management
