My Approach

Experience and approach:
The therapy I offer is integrative, rooted in relational transactional analysis psychotherapy. In my practice, I use elements of cognitive behavioural approaches to support the process of change of thought and behavioural patterns. I work psychodynamically, exploring the relationships and events of your childhood. I work in the here-and-now with your current relationships and attitudes towards life. I work with transgenerational trauma and its impact on our lives. I use relational approaches in psychotherapy such as the quality of the relationship between us -mutual impact within the therapeutic dyad- to bring your relational patterns to your awareness.
My clinical methodology is firmly rooted in transactional analysis psychotherapy, that examines what emerges between us in the room. I will sometimes share it with you. I am also interested in how you relate to yourself and others in your life, and to the various elements that constitute your daily living. I work with the unconscious communication between us, which sometimes manifests as ruptures or as thoughts and feelings that surprise us.
I work with individuals and relationships/couples. I work with a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, stress, bullying, shame, anger, intimate partner violence, and substance misuse among other issues. We can also work together with your gender, erotic and sexual identities (queer, BDSM, kink, others), your relationships styles, class, ethnicity and cross-cultural identities. You and I will work with what you feel is necessary and important to address and recognise in yourself and your relationships.
I work with people facing life changing decisions such as marriage, divorce, starting a family; events such as loss, change of career, health problems. We can look how power dynamics and social structures could have been shaping your life. We will work together towards the change you want in your life.
When working with relationships, I support partners to learn to communicate better, recognise their individual unmet needs, unfulfilled fantasies, be more courageous in sharing their needs and feelings and live their relationships more satisfyingly or to part well. We will work psychodynamically to understand partners' individual pasts and examine how they might impact current intimate relationships. Together, we will work towards a better understanding of the places where partners become defensive and relationships get stuck.
You can approach relationship therapy to address existing problems, to prevent the development of disagreements into full blown fights, to grow further as a relationship or to separate well.
Working with me, you will find a space where you can risk practising new behaviours and new ways of thinking about yourself and your life. I offer a therapeutic space, inviting you to explore your capacity to feel a variety of emotions, especially those that make you feel uncomfortable or embarrassed to feel. I offer therapeutic space where you and I can discuss the power dynamics present in your life and your intersectional identities without the judgement that prevents in-depth exploration of the identities you live out in the society.

About Me

Therapy is a collaborative experience; it is a microcosm where your past and present relationships play out between us. In this microcosm you and I will explore the reasons that brought you to therapy. It can be dissatisfaction with your working life, your self, your relationships, your habits of living your life.
It is not easy to start trusting a stranger with your most intimate reflections and feelings. One of my roles is to strive to understand you- to get to know you so I can support you in ways that might help you make sense of your experiences, feelings and thoughts and make new meanings that would enable you to introduce desired changes into your world.
My professional history ranges from volunteering for LGBT charities and crisis Cafes, working psychotherapeutically with individuals and relationships and as a health coach and health advocate with people who have experienced homelessness, trauma, intimate partner violence, criminal justice and diverse substance misuse. I have worked with marginalised communities and the wounds and the scars that being different, unseen, not mirrored in the bigger world and thus feeling not accepted leave on an individual lives and groups.
I have a professional background in the arts and creative thinking and have offered psychotherapy and counselling to people from the creative industries. I have worked with people who struggled with career decisions and the work and life balance. I supported people who struggled with low self-esteem, loneliness and internal conflicts regarding professional choices.

I work within an anti-oppressive framework with intersectional lenses providing counselling and psychotherapy to diverse communities of London and beyond.
