I am a qualified and experienced Humanistic and Integrative psychotherapist with a background in developmental psychology and psychoanalytic theory. I research and write about contemporary psychotherapeutic thinking using literary and creative arts-based methods and I supervise other practitioners
I work with clients with a broad range of concerns and reasons for wishing to engage in psychotherapy. My clients hold in common a desire to make real and lasting changes to how they approach and feel about their lives. Psychotherapy can feel daunting, but it is a gentle and often subtle process that moves at your own pace. I use a variety of theoretical approaches, adapting as necessary to best suit your needs. This includes an interest in how past events may be influencing your responses to present situations.
I view therapy as a creative partnership: the relationship between us is the medium through which learning and development takes place. As our mutual trust and understanding grows, we may feel able to explore more difficult to talk about aspects of your life. I offer sensitive, accepting, inquisitive and playful company, aiming to help you to find the words, to strengthen your sense of self, and empowering you to develop in a personally meaningful way, so that healing, growth and long term change become possible.

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
