My Approach

My approach is grounded in curiosity, patience, and respect for each person’s unique story. I aim to create a reliable and supportive relationship where you feel safe to explore difficult feelings and gain deeper insight into yourself. Through this process, many people begin to feel more free to express themselves and develop a more authentic and spontaneous way of being.

If you’re coming to therapy with a specific difficulty, such as anxiety, depression, past trauma, or relationship challenges—we can work together to understand how current feelings and behaviours may be connected to earlier experiences. For those who are interested in gaining deeper self-understanding, psychodynamic therapy can also offer a space for reflection and exploration of your inner world. Over time, this process can help bring clarity, relieve emotional distress, and support meaningful change.

About Me

I’m a bilingual psychodynamic therapist, fluent in Mandarin and English. I’ve long been fascinated by the ways our experiences shape how we think, feel, and relate to others. In therapy, I offer a calm and thoughtful space where you can speak freely about what’s on your mind. Our conversations may explore current challenges, as well as memories, dreams, or earlier experiences that may still influence how you feel today.

By gently tracing patterns and emotions back to their roots, we can begin to understand what may be causing distress and how change can become possible. I offer you a reliable and understanding relationship for as long as you want to use it, to explore what is troubling you in depth so that you can free yourself to develop a more natural and spontaneous self.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

My therapeutic practice is strongly shaped by cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the complexities faced by clients living between cultures. Through my work at the University Therapy Service and in community settings, I have supported many international students and young people navigating cultural adjustment, identity formation, and cross‑cultural communication challenges. Being bilingual in English and Chinese allows me to offer a space where clients can speak in the language that feels most authentic, and my psychodynamic training helps me attend closely to how cultural narratives and family dynamics influence emotional life.
I have experience supporting individuals across a range of mental health and social care settings in the UK. My early clinical exposure included an internship within the NHS, working with both Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and dementia services, where I gained experience supporting individuals and families navigating complex emotional and psychological challenges. I have also worked in various mental health and community settings, including mental health hospitals, social care services supporting people with autism, and volunteer work with Samaritans. These experiences deepened my commitment to supporting people facing emotional distress and life difficulties.
I work with careful attention to how racialised experiences, cultural narratives, migration histories, and systemic inequalities shape a person’s inner world and relational patterns. This sensitivity is integral to my psychodynamic approach, enabling me to hold a reflective space where clients’ racial and cultural contexts are recognised, respected, and thoughtfully integrated into the therapeutic process.
I work as a psychodynamic therapist, providing a reflective and containing therapeutic space where clients can explore their experiences, emotions, and personal histories in depth. I have experience supporting clients with a wide range of psychological and mental‑health challenges, helping them to understand the links between their presenting symptoms and underlying relational dynamics. Through careful attention to unconscious processes and repetitive patterns of relating, I facilitate insight while also supporting clients to develop their reflective capacity and strengthen their ability to navigate interpersonal challenges more effectively.
