My Approach

How I Work

As a Systemic Family Psychotherapist, I support people in strengthening relationships, improving communication, and navigating life's challenges together. Whether you are experiencing conflict, feeling stuck, or adjusting to a significant life change, therapy can provide a space to better understand one another and discover new ways of moving forward.

Family means different things to different people. It may include partners, children, parents, grandparents, siblings, chosen family, friends, carers, or other important people in your life. Together, we can decide who it would be most helpful to involve in therapy. I am happy to work with individuals, couples, families, or any combination of people that feels right for you. Sometimes everyone attends together; sometimes people attend separately; and sometimes one person chooses to come on their own.

Systemic Family Psychotherapy offers a supportive, reflective, and collaborative space during times of change, uncertainty, or distress. My role is not to blame, judge, or take sides, but to remain curious about each person's experiences, perspectives, and relationships. Together, we explore the patterns that may be keeping difficulties going and identify new ways of relating that better reflect your values, strengths, and hopes.

While we often focus on present-day concerns, it can also be valuable to explore family history, cultural and social contexts, beliefs, and significant life experiences that continue to influence relationships today. I recognise that there are rarely simple answers, and I respect that you will already have tried many ways of addressing the challenges you face. Therapy provides an opportunity to think together, rather than to be told what to do.

When working with children and young people, sessions are adapted to suit their developmental needs and preferences. This may include drawing, play, creative activities, or other ways of expressing thoughts and feelings, alongside conversation where appropriate.

Everything we discuss in therapy is treated confidentially and in accordance with professional ethical standards. Confidentiality would only need to be broken where there are concerns about the safety of a child or vulnerable adult, where there is a serious risk of harm, or where I am legally required to share information.

About Me

With over 18 years of experience as a registered health and social care professional, I have worked across a range of settings in the UK and Europe, supporting children, young people, adults, and families with complex needs.

I am passionate about working with LGBTQ+ (queer) young people and adults, and I am interested in how queer communities are reclaiming and reshaping psychotherapy in ways that affirm identity, challenge oppression, and support authentic ways of living and relating.

My recent clinical work includes providing individual, family, and systemic psychotherapy, systemic assessments, and formulations within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), Gender Identity Development Service, and Neurology Psychotherapy Service (working with people affected by Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and Dissociative/Non-Epileptic Seizures.

I offer systemic family psychotherapy to adults, couples, families, chosen families, parents, children, and young people. I work with people who are exploring, negotiating, and celebrating their gender, sexuality, and relationships across different contexts and life stages.

My practice is collaborative, curious, and affirming. Together, we can explore identity, relationships, neurodiversity, migration and cultural experiences, family dynamics, and the impact of wider social systems on wellbeing. I am particularly interested in helping people develop preferred ways of understanding themselves and their relationships while navigating the opportunities and challenges that accompany life's transitions.
