My Approach

It can take courage to start therapy and I understand for some the prospect may be quite daunting. My approach is warm and down to earth. I believe in working at your own pace and getting to know one another first and foremost. Working creatively and intuitively, I draw on a range of theories including psychodynamic, humanistic, existential and trauma informed, to suit the unique needs of each individual.

I work with sensitivity and compassion to create a safe space where you can share your thoughts and fears. I understand our past often shapes our present and believe in working collaboratively to explore current and past hurts, free of guilt or shame. Together we may look to find connections and meaning in your story, making sense of any patterns, behaviour or events. I will try and help you lay old ghosts to rest, find your inner sense of calm, and move on with your life.

About Me

I am a UKCP accredited Integrative Psychotherapist and a registered member of the BACP. I have been working with troubled individuals for 14 years. After volunteering as a reflexologist working with PTSD combat veterans, I trained as an integrative psychotherapist at the Metanoia Institute. I have worked with individuals in the wider community at several low-cost counselling services, including a bereavement agency during the Covid-19 pandemic. I also have substantial experience working with anxiety, depression, chronic health conditions, domestic violence, life transitions, loss of self, relational difficulties, ptsd, trauma and abuse.

With an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy & Counselling and a BA in Scandinavian literature, I believe we all have our own story to tell. Having lived and studied abroad, I am open to other cultures and have been shaped by my own experiences. As a previous somatic practitioner, I am interested in how the body holds onto our unspoken emotion, and how rarely we take time to listen.

I now work in private practice based in West London, face-to-face and online, and abide by the UKCP & BACP Code of Ethics. If you would like to know more, please feel free to contact me.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I work with care and compassion to support clients experiencing physical, mental and emotional forms of anxiety. I aim to offer clients the opportunity to explore possible causes in a safe and trusting environment. By exploring the anxiety together, linking mind and body, we can create new coping strategies to help calm the anxiety and nurture a renewed sense of self confidence.
I worked for a bereavement agency during the Covid-19 pandemic supporting clients experiencing traumatic loss due to Covid. I have also worked with clients suffering current, historic or anticipatory loss with a range of range of mixed emotions. I aim to help clients process their loss such that they may move forward.
I have extensive experience with domestic violence victims working with aspects of fear, guilt, and shame. I believe in working towards establishing new and lasting boundaries alongside self-compassion.
I have worked with a number of clients experiencing chronic, life changing or life threatening health conditions such as epilepsy, infertility, menopause, osteoporosis and cancer. I aim to support my clients to help reach a place of acceptance as they navigate their future.
I have worked with a range of individuals who have experienced trauma. With safety key, I work with sensitivity and respect to build a relationship based on trust. Working collaboratively at a client's chosen pace, I aim to foster autonomy, self-care and future wellbeing.
