I work with awareness and sensitivity to trauma-informed theories, spirituality, and the unique and diverse experiences each person brings. I have worked with clients from many different walks of life and have witnessed the transformation that therapy can bring to an individual’s life. Sometimes people are hesitant to start therapy, while others are ready to begin — I will always work at your pace. Some clients know exactly what they want to explore, while others feel uncertain — and this may point to a sense of stuckness in their lives. Either way, it’s something we can explore and work through together.
I work with you to explore what lies beneath your experiences, as this is often where people find the most meaningful change in their lives. This might mean supporting you through a difficult transition, such as a bereavement or divorce, or helping you to understand your relationship with yourself and others, set boundaries, improve your self-esteem, and achieve your goals. If you’d like to find out more about how I work, I offer a free consultation call so you can get a better sense of what therapy with me might look like.
I have been working for five years as a therapist in the NHS and three years in private practice. Prior to this, I spent ten years working as a wellbeing officer in educational settings. I am trained in ethical practice within the following theories: person-centred, transactional analysis, and Gestalt. Although these form the foundation of my work, I also draw on techniques from other therapeutic approaches. I hold a Certificate in Counselling for Depression — a NICE-approved treatment for depression.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
