My Approach

My approach is relational, collaborative, reflexive, and warm. I pay a close attention to creating a safe space that enables people to explore their dilemmas on relationships with family members, partners, friends as well as themselves, and open new possibilities within constraints.

About Me

I am a UKCP accredited Systemic and Family Psychotherapist and registered with Association of Family Therapy (AFT). I have over 6 years of clinical experience in offering support to families, groups, couples, young people, and adults who are facing mental health difficulties, trauma, emotional dysregulation, and addictions within public and voluntary services. As a white Greek cisgender female and having lived in the UK the past decade, I pay attention to different social markers and cultural diversities that inform how we relate with one another. My professional background is in physical and mental health nursing where I gained a deep insight into links between body and mind. I offer both online and in-person sessions and we could meet for a 15min virtual chat to talk about the issues that led you to reaching out for support.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Couples' complex dynamics is another area of my interest and my practice is informed by evidence based couples models such as Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), and Exeter model.
Having lived in two different cultural contexts such as Greece and England, as well as working with ethnically and culturally diverse populations in South London has sharpened my cultural sensitivity and awareness in my therapeutic work and so I pay close attention to how those social markers may influence the relational and communication dynamics.
In my extended work experience in public services in the UK I have supported different types of families (nuclear, single-parent households, foster, adoptive, and blended families) who experience complex communication dynamics, and relationship difficulties.
Part of my work with families may involve supporting parents and care givers understanding their children's needs, and to connect and relate with them in healthy ways. My clinical practice is informed by different models such as, Attachment Based Family Therapy (ABFT), Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Circle of Security (COS) and Non-Violent Resistant model (NVR).
In my therapeutic work I explore with couples, families and individuals how they form and maintain relationships with significant others across different contexts. We look into different patterns or cycles that sustain their relational difficulties and we navigate together how to break the old patterns and replace them with the preferred ones.
