My Approach

My approach is Integrative, which means I use differing models and techniques of counselling and psychotherapy. This enables me to support and tailor the therapy to meet your individual needs.

There is also the potential for you to also engage with Creative Art Therapy or Sand tray if this is something that interests you. Creative Art Therapy is a gentle yet powerful medium to allow you to explore your inner world. It enables you to gain an understanding of your way of relating to others, as well as knowing and understanding how you relate to yourself.

Images can bring alive your inner feelings and allow those feelings to be transposed onto a page, opening a door into further exploration. This can bring about a deeper understanding and meaning for you. Equally someone listening, and engaging with you, can be just as powerful and can lead to resolutions of personal issues or concerns.

I work with individual adults 18 years + on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period. The aim is to enable you to explore the issues which are stopping you from living your life to the full, the way you always imagined, or would prefer to live it.

About Me

I am an Adult Certified Counsellor and Psychotherapist fully qualified offering therapy in a confidential, safe, non-judgemental space in a quiet location of Aldwick. I offer an initial 1/2 hr free of charge session online session via Zoom, Skype or by phone.

I have worked in both public and private practice with clients presenting an extensive range of personal struggles such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and trauma related issues. I have also worked with bereavement, age related issues, terminal illness, and redundancy to name but a few.

My practice aims to offer you a supportive and yet sufficiently challenging relationship through which you can explore and gain a deeper understanding of the difficulties you are experiencing and develop new ways to enable you to make positive changes to enhance your life.

Each individual is unique; therefore, I offer and use differing psychodynamic techniques along with other therapies to personally suit your needs. Clients also have the opportunity to work with Creative Art Therapy. Why not call me and we can discuss the options open to you.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Trauma whether it is developmental, or incidental as a result of an accident or attack can have a huge impact on functioning day to day. Getting a greater understanding of the brain, mind & body connection can help you to learn new strategies to overcome the impact of trauma on living day to day. Helping you to gain some control and understanding over the physiological symptoms that arise and enable you to give voice to the feelings associated with traumatic memories can help the healing process to begin.
