I am a relationship and creative therapist with experience of working with a wide range of people in different contexts. My approach endeavours to work in collaboration and be respectful of diversity and difference. I offer a safe, non judgmental & confidential space where therapy sessions unfold at a pace that is comfortable for the client.
I take an anti-oppressive stance recognising effects of societal structures of oppression on daily lived experience, taking account of power imbalances in society. Part of doing therapy can be calling out and naming the impact on lived experience of these oppressive structures as well as recognising and celebrating acts of resistance and liberation.
My practice is influenced by psychodynamic and systemic models & approaches, Narrative therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), Mindfulness & Sand tray therapy.
I have special interest and experience of working with clients who have been adopted and those who are care experienced, reconstituted and step-families, bereavement and the LGBTQ+ & trans communities.
Sessions can integrate body techniques, & use of images &/or objects to support process & expression, especially when words can be hard to find.
