There are times when aspects of our lives can feel overwhelming, our emotional responses intolerable, or our relationships off-kilter, bland, secretive or repetitively and destructively confrontational. Therapy can offer help and support with current and/or longer-term problems, with issues such as behavioural patterns, both individually and in relationships, whether intimate, familial or platonic; life events such as loss or ill-health; work situations or questions about identity or sexuality. Within a sensitive, non-judgemental therapeutic relationship, individual therapy can help you gain insight and understanding, connect more fully with your sense of who you are, and feel empowered to make your own choices and decisions. Couples therapy can offer a space in which to explore communication differently - potentially from a place of fearless honesty - and to find connections with one another in new, mutually empathic ways. My relational integrative approach means that I am trained in different theoretical and therapeutic disciplines, offering scope for creative expression and discovery. In individual therapy, I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation stone for exploration and understanding and can be a means to nurturing or re-establishing each individual’s sense of their intrinsic value and potential. In couples therapy, having a supportive third person to help untangle repeating dynamics or one-off behaviours can open the door to finding real and more meaningful contact with your partner.
I am an experienced psychotherapist, providing open-ended therapy to individuals and couples just outside Warminster in Wiltshire. I offer a safe and welcoming environment where we can explore together, in confidence, the issues or challenges you are experiencing.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
