I am an experienced and qualified psychotherapist / counsellor and supervisor. I have worked in private practice for 25 years and worked in the NHS for 15 years. I work individually and with couples, many different people from all walks of life, with varied emotional needs and issues. I work with a wide range of problems and concerns including depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement and loss, relationship difficulties, and childhood issues. In addition I have specialist training and experience of working in the areas of trauma and post traumatic stress.
I offer brief and long term therapy.
I hold a Diploma in supervision and I am also a former BACP Accredited therapist and supervisor. I am happy to offer supervision to those in training or those who are already qualified on an individual or group basis. My supervision practice is predominately informed by my use of Hawkins and Shohet (2000) seven eyed supervisor model. This model is a very holistic one which not only focuses on the processes within both the therapy and supervisory matrices but also takes into consideration the wider context which may impinge upon these processes. I strive to create a supportive and encouraging relationship with my supervisees in which issues can be handled with trust.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
