My trauma-focused therapy approach empowers individuals to cultivate contentment both personally and professionally. By providing expert guidance and support, I help clients address underlying issues that may be affecting their overall well-being.
Every person is different and what we will discuss, and for how long, will depend on you. A couple of sessions to help you work through a particular issue or dilemma may be all that is needed. In a culture where speaking openly about your fears and concerns is not encouraged, an understanding ear can sometimes be helpful. Alternatively, there may be complex and underlying issues that require a longer-term therapeutic relationship. This is something we can develop together.
As a therapist I use my years of experience as an engineer, a humanitarian and senior manager to inform not only who I am, but how I practice. I like to ensure therapy is built around the individual client as working overseas has given me insight into the different perspectives different cultures can bring. “I’m OK, you’re OK” (Transactional Analysis, Berne) means everyone has the capacity to heal and my role is to support that journey.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
