About Me

I have over 25 years’ experience of working with individuals therapeutically on a one-to-one basis and within a group context. I offer a warm, non-judgmental, confidential space where we can explore any aspect of your life together and find meaning and facilitate change when necessary. I genuinely believe people can change, grow and flourish and I respect your individual autonomy, unique sense of the world and personal lived experience. No two people are the same and everyone’s experience is unique to them, so I ensure my approach fits within this philosophy where I can be flexible and tailor the therapy to meet an individual’s needs. Offering a non-directive style with compassion and an empathic understanding. We can make sense of the world and your experiences together.

All of my training is based within a humanistic framework. My initial counselling training is Integrative which gives me the knowledge and experience to be adaptable within my work. I am particularly interested in the Pluralistic approach which acknowledges each individual may require different approaches to meet their unique needs, and the developments of The Person Centre Approach.

My Psychotherapy Training is underpinned by Carl Roger’s Person-Centred Approach which values the genuine relationship, is non directive and pays attention to creating a safe enough space for change. I am a fully qualified, experienced Psychodramatist. This means I can also offer a more creative approach if necessary, working with action methods spontaneously, inanimate objects, exploring parts of self, exploring roles, power dynamics and experiences past or present. When words are not available or present – using this creative style can be very powerful and enlightening, in a group setting and one to one. Psychodrama has been a big part of my own personal and professional journey.

I am also a qualified Clinical Supervisor and Counselling for Depression (CFD) Therapist.
I welcome working with Students in Training.

Our first meeting is a chance to explore whether we’re a good fit. We’ll look at:
• The focus and frequency of your sessions
• Whether you'd prefer one-to-one work or group therapy
• Whether to work short-term, long-term, or in an open-ended way
• Any initial goals or expectations which can be revised as needed
