My approach is primarily embodied, integrative and relational, with a transpersonal understanding. I pay attention not only to our thoughts and emotions, but also to what we experience in the body. I believe that these different aspects of ourselves are closely connected, and that bringing them into greater awareness can open the way to intuition and deeper understandings that may not be accessible through thinking alone.
I am guided by each person's individual experience and needs, adapting the way we work together rather than following a fixed method. My aim is to support greater self-understanding, acceptance and freedom, so that life can be experienced more fully.
I have been a member of BACP and accredited by UKCP for over 20 years.
Sessions can be in English and Spanish.
There are times when we can feel stuck, disconnected from ourselves, or overwhelmed by the challenges life brings. Sometimes, even when things may look fine from the outside, we can find ourselves struggling with how we see ourselves, our relationships or the demands of life. Our difficulties do not exist in isolation, and the social and cultural worlds we live in can also shape how we experience ourselves and what is possible for us. Therapy can offer a space to slow down, become more aware of what is happening within us, and find healthier ways of relating to ourselves and to others.
I am interested in the ways we come to see ourselves, including the qualities we may experience as shortcomings. Rather than simply trying to get rid of or overcome these parts of ourselves, we can explore what they might have to offer and how they might become resources. This can include making room for the painful and difficult aspects of ourselves and finding ways of becoming more at ease with them, allowing greater acceptance and more space for different aspects of who we are.
Having lived in several countries, I have an understanding of the challenges that can come with uprooting, adapting to a new culture and finding a sense of belonging in unfamiliar surroundings. These experiences can bring their own questions about identity, relationships and how do we understand what home is.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
