My Approach

I have been trained in Existential Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Psychodynamic therapy. I believe that no two people are the same and that different methods will resonate differently for people. Therefore, I tailor the methods I use to what is best for each individual.

About Me

I care about people, and I believe in them. My work is based on those two things. I believe that you deserve to be cared for and that your future can be better than your present.
I have been working with people for over 20 years.
I worked in secondary and higher education for many years before formalising a change in my career.
From watching young people develop and grow I have grown passionate about the human capacity to change and become the people they want to be, to become someone that they can respect.
I am UKCP (2011175843) and BACP registered (00986785).
I hold a Masters in Psychology from Hertfordshire University and a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling.

I work with

  • Couples
  • Individuals

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

EMDR is an excellent tool in dealing with trauma or other deep seated issues that seem to have become stuck. Although it takes place within a talk-therapy framework, it does not demand as much talking as other forms. If you feel stuck with a trauma and find it difficult to talk about, then EMDR might be perfect for you.
I work with many mental health issues, including but not exclusively, anxiety, depression, religious issues, marriage issues, abuse, bereavement, social issues, relationships, ADHD.
I offer sessions on Zoom if face-to-face is too difficult for any reason.
Whether you are a trainee or an experienced therapist, the supervisor relationship can sharpen the clarity you have on your clients and help provide them with the best. It is a place to grow and stretch your mind and approach. To me supervision should be much more than a tick box needed to be completed; it should bring together your practice and give you a collaborative place to address your needs with regard to clients.
